Beyond the Permit

You have the permit. Now build the skills to back it up.

Why Would I Want a CWP With SC Being a Constitutional Carry State?

Beyond the Permit

A concealed weapons permit gives you the legal right to carry. It doesn’t prepare you for what happens if you ever have to use your pistol. Real self-defense incidents don’t happen on a calm, static range. They are fast, stressful and unpredictable.
Beyond the Permit is a hands-on, range-focused class built for permit holders who want to carry with real confidence. You’ll take the basics you already know and turn them into practical defensive skills you can use under pressure.
This class is mostly shooting, not lecture. Our instructor demonstrates each skill, then you practice it repeatedly until it starts to feel natural. Each class is capped at 8 students, so you get personal coaching and plenty of time on the line.

What You’ll Train

• Drawing from concealment: a safe, consistent draw stroke, plus holster placement, clothing choices and drawing through layers
• Accuracy under control: we ensure the right grip, sight picture and trigger press, with a holster reset after every string
• Reloads and malfunctions: tactical and speed reloads, and clearing stoppages so you can keep your gun running
• Multiple threats: moving between targets at 5 and 10 yards. Your eyes lead and the pistol follows.
• Getting off the X: moving off the line of attack as you respond to a threat, and using movement when you reload or seek cover
• One-handed shooting: strong hand and support hand, for when one hand is injured or busy
• The Drill: a timed six-shot drill at 7 yards to measure your speed and accuracy and give you a benchmark to beat
